Karen E. Quinones Miller's

Publishing Boot Camp

About Us

My name is Karen E. Quinones Miller, and I started my Publishing Boot Camp, because I know how hard it is to get a book written and published, but also how rewarding it is to do so.

You see, I wrote my first novel, Satin Doll, in 1999; and I wound up self-publishing when I was unable to find a publishing house interested in my manuscript. Amazingly, I sold 3,000 copies in just six weeks, and ultimately 28,000 copies in eight months. I then sold the publishing rights to Satin Doll and a second book to Simon & Schuster in a six-figure deal. I went on to publish a total of six books with major publishing houses, and all of novels have landed on various bestseller's lists. I also started my own publishing company which I use to publish other authors, and have also had great success as a literary agent -- placing my client's manuscript with major publishing houses like Simon & Schuster, Grand Central Publishing, and Kensington Books.

Having learned so many aspects of writing and publishing, it's probably no wonder that I was  included in the book Literary Divas: The Top 100+ Most Admired African-American Women In Literature.

Lucky me? No . . . hardworking -- and smartworking  -- me!

And I would like to share some of the writing and publishing knowledge I've gained over the years with you! The primary key is self-discipline along with a few insider tricks-of-the-trade to keep you on the right track.

Let me add here, that when you're considering participating in seminars, don't just look at the information given, but also who's giving it! I can't tell you how frustrated I am when I hear about people giving writing seminars, yet have never had a book published; publishing seminars when they've never been published by a major house; self-publishing seminars when they've only sold a couple of thousands of their own self-published book.

My Publishing Boot Camp currently offers a number of seminars and workshops on both publishing and writing -- all of which are designed not to just motivate (which is important!), but to also instruct (which is even more important!).

The cost of the 5 hour seminars is $85.00, and the 2 1/2 hour seminars $50.00.

Stay tuned, because I hope to soon offer videos of the workshops for those who are unable to attend in person.
